I am blessed to have grown up eating sandwiches, salads, and drinkin' shakes from here. What a blessin'! The freshest, biggest sandwiches anywhere around. Love this place!

This is the best place in Chicago to get a sandwich. Even you folks over in NW Indiana ought to get yourselves out here for some serious sandwich awesomeness. Everything about Unbeatable Eatables, from the staff, to the venue to the food is fantastic. Why are you still reading this review? Get in your car and get your ass over here for the best sandwich of your life. :) TL;dr: Best sandwiches ever. Get over here, already.

I've been to this place since the late seventies and it's always been my favorite. However today I was very disappointed in my Poseidon sandwich. I had to dig deep to find the meat this time, it felt more like a veggie sandwich. Get back to what made everyone in the area like you.

Super simple but the Poseidon sandwich; chef salad(minus ham & onions) w/French dressing.... You can't go wrong!

I've died and gone to sandwich heaven. While the guy on the phone took FOREVER to take my pick-up order and they take their sweet time (if you order at the counter), it's well worth the wait. Their sandwiches are spectacular, their soups are something I would kill a hobo for (especially the chicken dumpling), and their salads are enormous (and tasty - their small salads could feed 3 people - I can only imagine what their large salad looks like). Also, their shakes are some of the best around! If you live in the area, I'd definitely check this place out! I would suggest you phone your order in to save you some time, but any amount of time you would wait is well worth it!

Eat fresh, forget Subway. These guys are the bomb. Their food is to die for and they have daily specials. I ate the club sub the other day with chips and a soda. It was awesome. It was discounted as it was the special that day. I love this place. You gotta try it.

The management has changed over the years, the strip mall the shop is in has kind of fallen on hard times, but they still make some of the best subs you will find anywhere at Unbeatable Eatables, and believe me I've looked, in cities all around the USA. The only shops I've found to rival Unbeatables are in Philly, but that's a long way to go for a sandwich if you're in Chicago. The staff are always friendly. The sandwiches are piled high, I mean really high with meat, cheese, and other toppings -- you'll barely be able to close your mouth around them. My favorite is The Unbeatable -- with, I think, ham, capicola, bologna, cheddar, swiss, mounds of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber slices, and topped with oil/vinegar, mayo, and Italian herbs. Delicious. A large could feed two. Not exactly cheap -- it will set you back almost $10, but worth every penny. I haven't tried it in a long time, but they also used to have great soft-serve ice cream here.

Okay, so I did work at this place for 4 years, and most of my family has worked here for over 20 years, but I HAD to review it. Everyone must know how amazing this place is. It's slogan? "The Best Submarine You'll Eat, Ever!" And it does not dissapoint. The subs are a bit pricey, but well worth every penny. My faves: 6 inch roll, oil/spices, hard salami, provolone, onions, lettuce, black olives, and a touch of celery salt. The cream of potato and cream of broccoli are to die for! The Otis Spunkmeyer cookies are amazing. And Ma's Homemade Chili? Unlike anything you've had before.
